硅改性聚酯（SMP)
由于聚酯含有活性基-OH/-COOH，極易和其它高分子化和物反應，為改良PE的耐陽光性與粉化性，以色澤保持性與耐熱性優(yōu)的Silicone樹脂作變性反應，和PE的變性比可于5%—50%之間，SMP提供鋼板更好的持久性，其防蝕年限可長達10-12年，當然其價格也比較PE為高，但因Silicone樹脂對材質的附著性和加工成型性并不理想，因此SMP彩涂鋼板并不適用于需多次成型加工的場合，大部分用于建筑屋頂及外墻。

高耐侯聚酯(HDP)
對于PE和SMP的缺點，耐候性HDP聚酯涂料，且優(yōu)于普通的硅改性聚酯涂料，其戶外耐候性達到15年。高耐候聚酯樹脂在合成時采用含環(huán)己烷結構的單體，來達到樹脂的柔韌性、耐候性和成本的平衡，采用不含芳香族的多元醇和多元酸來減少樹脂對UV光線的吸收，達到涂料的高耐候性能。涂料配方中加入紫外線吸收劑和位阻胺（HALS）提高漆膜耐候性能。高耐候聚酯卷材涂料的性價比十分高。

聚酯(PE)
PE涂料對于材質有良好的附著性，彩涂鋼板易于加工成型，價格低廉且產品多，顏色和光澤的選擇余地大。聚酯涂料對耐紫外光性與涂膜耐粉化性，但并不理想，因此PE涂料 的使用仍需受到一些限制，一般用在空氣污染不嚴重的地區(qū)或需多次成型加工的產品。

氟碳涂層PVDF
由于PVDF的化學鍵與化學鍵間，有很強的鍵能，因此涂料具有非常好的防蝕性和色澤保持性，在建筑工業(yè)用彩涂鋼板涂料中，是屬于最高級產品，且分子量大又為直鍵型結構，因此除耐化學藥品性之外，機械性能、耐紫外線和耐熱性能也很突出。在一般環(huán)境下，其防蝕年限可達20—25年之久。近年來，國內開始盛行以三氟氯乙烯和乙烯酯單體共聚的含氟樹脂，大量應用于建筑的外墻和金屬板，由于使用易水解的乙烯酯單體和氟的含量較PVDF低30%左右，因此其耐候性與PVDF比較，有一定的差距。寶鋼所生產的氟碳涂層，其涂層PVDF含量不小于70%（其他為丙稀酸樹脂）。
