彩涂板的“涂”就是用特殊手段在基板上涂上一層液態(tài)涂料，經(jīng)后續(xù)程序成為涂層產(chǎn)品。如涂層板就是在連續(xù)機(jī)組上以冷軋板、熱鍍鋅板、鍍鋁板、高鋁合金板、不銹鋼板等為基板，經(jīng)過(guò)表面預(yù)處理（脫脂和化學(xué)處理），用輥涂的方法涂上一層或多層液態(tài)涂料，經(jīng)過(guò)烘烤和冷卻所得到的板材極為涂層鋼板。由于涂層可以有各種不同的顏色，習(xí)慣上把涂層鋼板叫做彩色涂層鋼板即彩涂板；又由于它是在冶金工廠完成表面涂層的卷材，可供用戶直接加工成產(chǎn)品，所以也稱預(yù)涂層鋼板。
